Vancouver Building Bylaw 2025 is now effective as of September 15, 2025. You can find the new Vancouver Building Bylaw here. 

The B.C. Building Code is now BCBC 2024 for all of British Columbia except the City of Vancouver. The City of Vancouver has its own Building Code 2019.  Some special areas like YVR and UBC may be using the National Building Code. You can get a free copy of the BC Building Code at You

It is worth mentioning that the BC Building Code is updating to BCBC 2024 on March 8th, 2024. In terms of work, this will mean engineering design review may take longer as it is now required to have an independent review of all designs by another registered Engineer for all projects. Peak Engineering Ltd. is now able to digitally sign project documentation through a Notarius service. 😊 If the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) only allows “digitally signed” documents submittal only, we can do it.
